7 years ago I bought a road bicycle on a whim and cycled to Malacca and back over 4 days. That trip sparked off a love for being on 2 wheels and I finally made it up to Malacca again, albeit on a motorcycle this time.
Inspired by the sexiest chocolate man, Vanga, this group banded together and headed up on a trip that is hopefully just the beginning of a life of adventure. Or at the very least, the birth of weekend road warriors. By sheer coincidence, we were all on Honda motorcycles; two Super 4, two CBF150, a CB400X, a XR400 and a Phantom. We should have asked Boon Siew for some sponsorship! :p
The roads were decent but slightly bumpy and everyone's butt was hurting from the ride. We ended up making a unanimous decision to ride the NSH on the way back.
Quite thankful that the guys on 400cc bikes were riding at 90 - 100 km/h which was a more comfortable speed for the three 2B bikes in the group
Everyone eye power only. Lol
Obligatory touristy shot
We faced some technical difficulties along the way because the Super 4s on the trip were overheating from going so slowly! One of the bikes started to leak coolant, but we still managed to reach Malacca in one piece.
Food glorious food!
Another touristy shot
We stayed at a house we found on airbnb which was a stone's throw away from Lok Lok stalls and about 10 minutes stroll from Jonker Street. So naturally, we had to head out for some Lok Lok and night snacks!
Total cost of fuel for the 490km trip? SGD$12. HAHAHA... Just cannot help laughing to myself thinking about that.
Ride on!
